Do women have a seat at the table in the fishing and shipping industries?Examining the gender distribution in the fishing and shipping industries, Denominator's DEI data shows that 35% of Board positions in the fishing industry are held by women, which is somewhat higher compared to the shipping industry with 18% as well as the global average on 22% women on boards.However, in Executive roles, women occupy 13% of positions in both the fishing and shipping industries, while the global average is 19%.

Furthermore, the fishing industry generally outperforms the shipping industry across various DEI dimensions. The most significant gap is observed in the DEI dimensions of Gender, with a nearly 9-point gap on Denominator's scoring scale from 0-100. The closest alignment of performance in both industries is their performance within the dimensions of Race/Ethnicity and Age.
