Gender bonus gap | FTSE 100 firms analysis

Building on our previous Denominator Fact on FTSE 100 gender pay gaps, we now turn to bonuses. Women receive, on average, £0.68 for every £1 paid to men in bonuses, a 32% gap that is even wider than the base pay disparity.

Breakdown of the bonus gap

📉 The average gender bonus gap is 32%.
💵 The highest gap in favor of men is 74%, meaning women earn just £26 for every £100 in bonuses paid to men.
📈 The largest gap in favor of women is 77%, with just 7% of firms favor women in bonus pay.
⚖️ 4% have no or lower than 3% gender bonus gap.

Conclusion

The gender bonus gap in FTSE 100 firms is both larger and more pronounced than the pay gap, reflecting deeper equity challenges. Although a small number of companies achieve balance, or even favor women in bonuses—the overall trend shows persistent structural issues.
